Elisha Marik's Christening

On the 12th day of the 12th month of 2009, another name adds up to the list of my godchildren. I already had a long list. But I won't say no in standing as the second parent to Elisha Marik, my friend's daughter.

Due to some errands that I have to do at home (specifically doing the laundry), I (together with my girl) was late. At least, we were able to make it before the lunch started at the reception (Max's Restaurant, Quezon Avenue branch). The food were literally overflowing. But with the office buddies I had in the table, we were able to empty the serving plates, LOL!

My girl, Marik, and Me

Welcome to the Christian World Marik! Hope you grew up as what God had planned for you!

One of My Realizations

With last year, haven’t you realized something? Well, I do and I hope you did too. Of course there were a lot of realizations. And one of the most stunning that I have realized is that, I could have saved/started earlier.

I am already 28 years YOUNG, LOL! By July, I will be turning 29. It is an age of no joke. A couple of years more, I can no longer see my age at the calendar, my gray hair would be more visible, and wrinkles might inhabit my face. With the 28 years that has passed, I had made a lot of decisions; some led me to failure and most to success. But in this point in time, even if I am a bit successful to the field that I have chosen, I still think that I could have made or decided something better: I could have started earlier.

I could have acquired a lot earlier. I could have bought a house package for that lot. Imagine, if I would only start now, and 2 years will be the minimum period that I could pay the house and lot before I could enjoy living in it, when can I start building my own family? And when will I be able to pay it in full?

I could have chosen to start purchasing insurance earlier. Or most probably, I could have purchased a Short Term Insurance too in order to enjoy the benefits early on. I should have not realized it lately and enjoy its benefits when I am too old to be as adventurous as I wanted to be.

Anyhow, time that past is a time that’s gone. So there’s no turning back now, only moving forward.

  8. PhilStar.com Christmas Celebrity Run 2009 - December 20, 2009 (chaos)
Before I bid goodbye to 2009, I had my last run for the year: The PhilStar.com Christmas Celebrity Run 2009 held last December 20 at the Fort, Bonifacio Global City. I am really not sure if we can make it to this event the night before since my girl suffered from dysmenorrhea all throughout the day. But then she woke me up at around 3 in the morning and told me that she already ate her breakfast and was about to take a bath. With that, I get up from my bed and prepare for my last run for the year.

Well, I barely remember what had transpired from my preparations to our arrival at the starting line. It is already almost a year ago, LOL! Anyhow, I vividly remember how chaotic the event had been (for the 5K category). And probably the heavens had sent the signal by showering a very light rain before the 5K gun start. But we did not bother ourselves with the mist that falls at our skin. I also did not tire out myself by keeping pace with the 'competitive runners'. Instead I just jog and try to enjoy myself (it is a fun run anyway, so I might wanna have fun right?). But as we near our 2K mark of the 5K race route, somebody from the 5K racers was shouting and running in the opposite direction telling everyone else (5K racers) to go back for we had traversed a wrong route. Since almost everyone is turning back, we also stopped and return - hoping to find a signage (or a marshall) that could lead us to the right track.

But, as we already reached the 1K mark of every runners' route, we were only directed to the finish line. WHAT?! That was a total MESS! Given that this event had been moved from October to December, they could have prepared and organized the event much better and more perfect. It really dismayed a lot of runners (including us of course).

To top it all, the race results have been released. And NONE of us (9 runners) were in their list (3 10K runners, and 6 5K runners). We were not even registered at the same time nor at the same place. Could you imagine that? So here's what I have to say about the event:

Two Thumbs Down

My Girl's Question

When my girl asked me if I would still love her if she is fat or if she becomes ugly (she is now, joke!) or if she is that and this and more. My kiddingly answer would be “Okay lang, wala naman akong magagawa eh” (“It’s alright, I can’t do anything about it”), and then we’ll be laughing our hearts out.

Well honestly, girl’s vanity is not that disagreeable to me. I know for a fact that they just wanted to be beautiful, not in the eyes of other people, but in the eyes of their love ones. Just like my girl, she doesn’t intend to beautify herself for other people to notice her but for me to be happy and glad and pleased and proud and everything. So basically, they do it for the love of their lives (Well, I am speaking in behalf of my girl and the ladies who already found their better halves). And of course, they were doing it for themselves too to be more confident and to be more pleasant. It also adds up happiness within them.

Now, I must say that there’s nothing wrong with having a hair rebond, facial cleaning or pimple treatment of sorts, Liposuction, and cosmetic surgeries. The only problem with such is, when you don’t have the budget, yet you still aim and work hard just for vanity. It is when you will prioritize your butt surgery rather than having a good and healthy meal at home.

Anyhow, back to my girl’s question, I might be answering her with a joke, but that’s exactly what I really meant. It doesn’t matter if her hair’s rebonded or not. If she has the budget, then make her hair rebonded, if not, then I would still love the lady behind those wavy and dry hair; for I love her as a person, and not just because she has the commercial-quality hair. Keep that in mind love of my life.

Most of our friends told us that we already looked-alike. Thus, she really is the most beautiful girl in the world. :D

One Step Forward

I have been desperately wanting to have a house. I have blogged about it several times. I have even given specific details of my dream home. Hmmm, I am just happy that I have moved One Step Forward last night when I had worked on several documents to acquire the title from the lot that I have bought. It also costs me PhP21,000 for the partial taxes to be paid. I am targeting to have the land title at hand this January. Wish me luck!

Can We Afford to Have Those?

A couple of days before the long vacation is over, me and my girl meet up at Waltermart, Plaridel. I supposedly have to settle my BPI bills; unfortunately, I have to wait until Monday to do so. As a result, we just wander around the mall and have our window shopping. Well, I bought underwear while my girl bought two pairs of spoon and fork. After an hour, her sister sent her a message asking us to accompany her (her sister) in choosing a cabinet for her stuffs. We immediately proceed at Home Plus (2nd floor of the mall) and spotted them (her sister, mother, and niece) there. We looked at the available cabinets there but none satisfied our eyes.

We then proceed to another furniture store in the nearby town (Pulilan). While her sister and mother were busy looking at different elegantly styled cabinets, we wander around the store. We found there several dining tables (8-, 6-, and 4-seater), cabinets with mirrors, sofa’s, study table, children’s tables, childrens beds, couples’ beds, shoe racks, and so much more. We (me and my girl) then began to wonder if we would be able to buy them come that we already have our dream home. Can we afford to have those? Or shall we wait for the old furniture of her sister for us to inherit? LOL!

Anyhow, here are photos of the cabinet that her sister bought that day (and delivered the following day). Isn’t it nice? It costs PhP5,500.00 ($110).

Happy New Year!!!
