Letters to Juliet

I have just watched "Letters to Juliet", and i love the movie.

Here's the reply letter of Sophie Hall, as a secretary of Juliet, to Claire.

Dear Claire,

"'What' and ‘if’ are two words as non-threatening
as words can be.

But put them together side-by-side

and they have the power to haunt you for the
rest of your life: ‘What if?'... What if?'..."

"I don't know how your story ended.
But if what you felt then was true love,

Then it's never too late. If it was true
then it why wouldn't it be true
now? You need only the courage to
follow your heart..."

"I don't know what a love like Juliet’s feels like,

a love to leave loved ones for,

a love to cross oceans for,

but I'd like to believe, if I ever were to feel it,

That I'd have the courage to seize it.”

“And, Claire, if you didn't, I hope one day that you will."

Holiday Ham: The Premium-Cut Ham

Chef Rob Pengson

There is no doubt that the most important food of the Noche Buena is the ham. While there are a number of meat brands everyone is familiar with, there is only one that offers the best-tasting ham which not only makes the holiday special but also a cut above the rest. Introducing the Holiday Ham – the premium-cut ham. Here are three things which make this ham the best among the rest.

First is that the Holiday Ham is made from one whole boneless meat from the hind leg which is the best cut of pork for hams. Hind leg ham is tastier and meatier compared to the more common shaped hams. Shaped hams are already processed and although brands would use meat from the other parts of the pork, nothing can beat the goodness found only on the hind leg of pork.

Second, the Holiday Ham is a high-quality smoked ham. The net marks attests to that. Only whole-meat hams can be smoked in ham nets because if it isn’t, pieces would fall off.

Lastly, Holiday Ham has no extenders. The appearance, taste and texture tell the truth. The ham is meat, juicy, and flavorful, and consumers really get the best value for their money.

Although Christmas is celebrated over a long period of time, Noche Buena is held only once this season and it has to be perfect, special, and unforgettable. The Holiday Ham can make the holidays exactly just that. It’s the premium choice for consumers who want only the best. With the three abovementioned qualities of the ham, it moreover makes the holiday simply a cut above the rest.

Discover the beauty and grandeur of KAOS

NEWPORT CITY, Pasay - In a medieval kingdom, a lonely prince peers into a magical mirror and falls in love with a beautiful maiden from the future. As the past and the future converge, the two discover a love that transcends time, prevailing over a scheming adviser and numerous obstacles.

This at a glimpse is the story of KAOS, a visual and musical spectacle unlike anything the country has ever seen.

A convergence of world class talent

Set to be Resorts World Manila's first exclusive production, KAOS was conceptualized with international audiences in mind. The story, a timeless tale of love, is an engaging experience for the whole family. But what truly sets it apart is the combination of internationally acclaimed acts that it weaves seamlessly together in one show.

Kaos will feature celebrated stage thespians in the leading roles. Livewire singer and theatre actor Gian Magdangal will play the valiant prince, half-Pinay Canadian Idol standout Martha Joy will take on the part of the heroine, while versatile veteran performer Joel Trinidad will don the role of the scheming Adviser.

The three will lead a strong cast sure to captivate audiences with their performances of original songs specially created for the show, with no less than the Manila Symphony Orchestra providing the musical score.

Central to the story is none other than the title character, Kaos, who happens to be a real and rare white lion.

Kaos is part of the menagerie of world-renowned animal performers specially trained by Spanish master illusionist Enrique Polo, who will be part of the show along with his other lions and tigers.

Breathtaking acrobats from China and the Power Duo, a world renowned act from Belarus, will test the limits of physical endurance with their riveting performances.

Stunt motorcyclist from Spain will defy gravity in the astounding Cycle of Life, while the Human Time Machine performers from South America will showcase superb balance and synchronization.

Hip Hop dance champions Philippine All Stars will energize the show with their winning moves.

Behind KAOS is a world class production team. Andrew Botha from South Africa designed the magnificent set pieces, while seasoned costume designer Liudmila Karpinka brought to life elaborate and beautifully detailed medieval and futuristic costumes for the story. Veterans of various Star Cruises productions, Khmelnytsky Oleksandr and Donchanka Nataliya collaborated on the amazing choreography.

Resorts World Manila's Colin Kerr leads the show as Executive Producer, with Sviatlana Burkun as Production Manager.

Only at Newport Performing Arts Theater

Audiences will be able to catch KAOS up to eight times weekly at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. The 1,500-seat theater boasts of the largest LED wall ever built in the Philippines, as well as state-of-the-art lights and sounds technology. This ultra-modern performance venue is part of Resorts World Manila, an integrated leisure destination where guests can shop, dine, play and enjoy excellent live entertainment daily.

This spectacular production of love and magic is only one of the many surprises to be unveiled in time for Resorts World Manila's grand launch.

KAOS is not just a show; it is an experience everyone will enjoy again and again. And it's coming this December 2010, only at Resorts World Manila.

KAOS together with Ishigo, My Girl, and I

A Day That Was

Last night after attending a seminar at Seameo Innotech, I met with the person that my girl and I contracted to have our house plan prepared. It is fulfilling on my part that slowly, there’s an accomplishment with respect to building our dream home. While I am particular with the details, my girl seems to be very focused on the kitchen. She always looks for the island. It won’t be a wonder if she’ll ask me to buy howard miller clocks for furnishing. But that’s still many months from now. We have to work hard and pray hard first as well.

After that, we met with my office friends and have a sumptuous dinner at TGIFriday’s, Trinoma. And since TGIF is known for singing for the guest who is celebrating their birthdays, we told them that it was my girl’s birthday. Well, it is her birthday this coming Tuesday. Yes, they do sing for her and gave her a complimentary ice cream with a birthday candle on it.

That great dinner was followed by a blueberry cheesecake and heaven on earth dessert at Starbucks. Definitely, we all have a cup of coffee. I got Java Chip Frap. We had a chit-chat and laughter. Since we all have work the following morning, we call it a day at around 9:30PM.

Well, that’s a day that was for me. How about you?

Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan Lights up Magic & Happiness

Shake up the happiness. Wake it up, wake up the happiness. It’s Christmas time!

Once again, the country’s one and only partner in opening up the true spirit of the holiday season, Coca-Cola, rolled down the highly anticipated Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan and the annual Araneta Center Giant Tree Lighting last November 12, 2010 at the Araneta Coliseum parking lot. The well-loved beverage brand treated guests to an experience like no other when it painted the town red and led all the festivities, keeping true to fulfilling its tradition of bringing everybody together to usher in a magical Christmas.

Kicking off the day’s funfair was a grand parade led by a convoy of Coca-Cola Christmas trucks carrying two of the hottest youth icons of today and Coca-Cola ambassadors Kim Chiu and Enchong Dee with teen celebrities Empress Schuck, Joseph Marco, Matt Evans and the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010 housemates Ivan Dorschner, James Reid, Ryan Bang, Bret Jackson, Tricia Santos, Jenny Sol, Devon Seron and Fretzie Bercede, Starstruck idols Kris Bernal, Steven Silva, Rocco Nacino Enzo Pineda and Diva Montelaba along with the Philippine Navy Band which marched along and rocked out the Araneta Center with lively renditions of popular Christmas jingles.

Right after the caravan spread cheers across the upbeat hub, more and more surprises were opened up as the energetic duo of Nicole Hyala and Chris Tsuper welcomed guests to the various game, activity and photo booths lined up by Coca-Cola just before the official tree lighting ceremony started. The renowned Love Radio tandem DJ’s bonded and shared an early Noche Buena feast with the celebrity guests, granted some of the guests’ heartfelt wishes and gave away raffle prizes to lucky folks all through out the afternoon.

In no time, all the rush and thrill finally led to the much-awaited lighting of the Giant Christmas Tree situated at the heart of Araneta Center, a celebrated custom since 1981. The exciting countdown to the “it-moment” was joined in by officials from the local government, Araneta Center and The Coca-Cola Company along with Kim Chiu and Enchong Dee along with other personalities and celebrity guests. Standing at almost 100ft. this year’s tree is bedecked with more than 10, 000 lights and hundreds of stars and Coca-Cola Christmas balls, with huge ribbons and colorful gift boxes as accents. Through the years, it has been a beacon of hope among the Filipinos; a most cherished icon that signals the beginning of the holiday season and reminds us to always believe in the magic and happiness it brings, the same way Coca-Cola inspires.

“We are so happy that we are part of this very momentous affair - to light up happiness and open up a magical Christmas season with our favorite drink, Coca-Cola! That’s what this occasion is all about- for us to remember that we would always have Coca-Cola to energize our bodies with its delicious taste and fizz as we celebrate with the ones closest to our hearts and to refresh our spirits so we can all enjoy life’s goodness,” says Coca-Cola ambassador Enchong Dee.

Unlike in the previous years, Coca-Cola gave the amazed partakers more reasons to light up happiness among themselves and others around them as it held the first-ever simulated lights and sounds show. The magical harmony of lively Christmas anthems and dazzling beams that sparkled among the Coca-Cola caravan up to the giant tree culminated to a fireworks display, which left guests in high spirits.

Indeed it was a day of wonderful surprises, moreover when Coca-Cola also launched the Coca-Cola Contour Glass promo. The Coca-Cola contour glass is one of this season’s fun, ultimate merry must-haves that will surely complete our Noche Buena bonding and allow us to keep refreshing ourselves with the deliciously fizzy cola drink we all love. It’s available in five perky colors such as red, yellow, violet and green and the latest addition to the bunch, the aquamarine contour glass. Let’s make moments count this Christmas by sharing them together. Let’s make it more colorful with an ice-cold Coke and these cool contours,” says Coca-Cola ambassador Kim Chiu.

It’s so easy to take home all five Coca-Cola Christmas Contour Glasses: Buy Coca-Cola, Coke Light, Coke Zero, Sprite or Royal Tru Orange in any of the 500ml, 750ml, 1L, 1.5L and 2L packs. Look under the Santa cap for the “Coke Glass” text and collect 2 more regular Coca-Cola Santa caps and exchange these caps for one Coca-Cola Christmas Contour Glass from any 7 Eleven store, selected sari-sari stores or public markets and Coca-Cola Sales offices nationwide. You may redeem from November 15 to December 31, 2010 only.

I just got my set :)

This Christmas, let us all open and celebrate magical moments together shared with nothing less than the irreplaceable sparkle that uniquely refreshes and makes us happy- Coca-Cola. Energizing Christmas Spirit. Open Coca-Cola, Open Happiness.

Blog, Domain, Hosting, Plants vs Zombies

I’m thinking of changing my blog’s URL. I guess the “Philippine Place” title no longer fit the contents of my blog. Moreover, I don’t want to create a blog for the different niches that I’ve been touching in my posts. But my brains just cannot help me right now on what title will fit in. Maybe my brains had already been consumed by the zombies, LOL! I still got that Plants vs Zombies fever.

Having my own domain also crosses my mind. Whenever I attend blogger events, I felt somehow annoyed with the long URL that I am writing in the registration. Although it ain’t matter, I know. I know I need not to transfer the hosting of my blog just to have a new domain, but I am thinking of trying it out. Care to suggest the best web hosting that offers the cheapest price in the web?

My girl once bought a domain at GoDaddy.com. Everything’s smooth and she had configured her blog that easy. But problem arose when her Yahoo account is hacked. And interestingly, the hacker only modified her GoDaddy.com account. Or shall I call it weird?

Would it be better to have my blog in Wordpress instead of Blogger?

You see, all these questions run in my head, and I can’t think of an answer. I guess I have to play Plants vs Zombies first, LOL!

For top health, listen to an expert: Mother Nature

Modern life is full of contradictions. Interest in natural wellness is at an all-time high – and so are stress levels. A 24/7 lifestyle and perpetual multi-tasking leads us to demand maximum return from every peso and every calorie.

Yet for most urbanites, 100% health perfection is simply not realistic. Our daily trip to work exposes us to toxins and pollution; sleeplessness, convenience food and inadequate exercise are facts of modern office life.

Funny then, to fight these new ills with wisdom from an old source: Mother Nature. In the days when “organic” was the rule rather than the exception, balanced health could be found as close as the family garden. Humble, homegrown malunggay kept generations of Pinoys hardy and strong, without ever setting foot in a gym.

From that inspiration comes MALUNGAI LIFE OIL: an all-natural supplement that unlocks the disease-fighting powers of moringa olifera in extracted, highly concentrated oil. A product of proudly Filipino company Manila Nature’s Link, Malungai Life Oil is the only pure malunggay oil supplement in the market today.

Rich in Vitamin C, calcium, antioxidants and essential amino acids, malunggay has long been associated with benefits that are more relevant than ever. These include higher energy, increased immunity, and helping to manage three of today’s main health concerns: blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol.

In fact, while it is still being studied, malunggay oil also shows promise not only in preventing cancer but in easing the painful effects once it is already developed.*

The key to it all is chlorophyll, engine of the plant’s powerful conversion of energy. By distilling both seeds and leaves into a pure, cold-pressed oil, MLO maximizes malunggay’s chlorophyll and renders it, in the words of a medical expert, “preserved, conserved and available.”

This means that malunggay’s health benefits can be delivered with more stability and consistency than in the dried powder that was previously available. So you get a synergistic combination of nutrients which normally can be obtained only from separate food sources.

MALUNGAI LIFE OIL. Pure, potent power from Mother Nature – in convenient, concentrated form, perfect for getting the most out of life.

MALUNGAI LIFE OIL is available in packs of 10s and 60s, at Mercury Drug and other drugstores nationwide. For more product information, please visit http://www.malungailifeoil.ph/.

* Phytonutrients [are] present in the leaves of the moringa tree. These leaves are exceptionally rich in chlorophyll and many potent antioxidant flavonoids… A pressing question is, therefore, whether ingesting … “Moringa Life Oil” derived from these leaves can significantly reduce the likelihood of cancer development and even suppress cancers once they have fully developed. … [This] should be studied in nonoperable cancer patients. At a minimum, it might help alleviate some of the side effects of chemotherapy. More importantly, it may help fuel and activate the body’s natural cancer preventative and suppression processes.“ -- “Moringa Life Oil” in the Prevention and Therapy of Cancer. W. SM City Marilao Christmas Launch

Last Saturday, my girl and I joined SM City Marilao as they unveil Santa's Factory in their Center Atrium. Actually, SM Supermalls nationwide kicks off its Joyful Christmas celebration all at the same date, November 6, 2010.

We failed to witness the opening of the program. We arrived just exactly when the Christmas Chrisms Bop (SM Supermalls Christmas Jingle) is to be sung. The jingle is intended to add the Christmas spirit in music for dear shoppers that will surely give more cheers to kids and adults alike.

It was then followed by the most anticipated part of the program - the opening of Santa's Factory. SM City Marilao mimic the famed house up on the North Pole where toys are made. With this Santa's Factory in the Center Atrium, shoppers can have a photo taken in Santa's favorite place in his home - by the fireplace where he makes his list.

And what's Christmas without giving gifts? Remember the most precious gift that we have received?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
The dwellers of KIDS AT HOME Orphanage joined the Christmas launch at the mall, around 20 of them, and received early Christmas gifts from SM.

And finally to end the program right, a fireworks display lit the night colorfully.

Well, of course my girl and I grab the chance to have our photos taken too at Santa's Fireplace. So before heading home, we took some photos.

Beyond the Christmas jingles and the shopping bags that you got there, don't forget the true spirit of Christmas.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Have a blessed one!

What's Up With My Abode?

So what’s the development about my house? My would-be humble abode is STILL drawn in a piece of paper. It is not yet the time to canvass for refrigerator, gas stove, dining table, living room furniture set, and even that rustic bedroom furniture. It is simply not yet the time to have my eyes stuck on those. But nevertheless, it is slowly having improvements.

My girl and I contacted someone to prepare the house plan for us. The package includes all the requirements for the PAG-IBIG housing loan. It also covers the application for Building Permit in the municipal hall. Although it is taking quite considerable amount of time in the preparation of our house plan, that’s absolutely alright with me. I, myself, am looking into details of the house plan – electrical outlets and materials for construction included. There are nights that I have to spend an hour or more looking into details. I believe I am doing the right thing for the construction of the house will be based on the plan; therefore, any lousy details included in it would make a domino effect.

Hopefully, the construction could start early next year given that I could process all the necessary documents and requirements this December. Help me God.

Goldilocks Pagbabago Blog Contest Awarding Ceremony

Last Friday, October 22, I accompanied my girl in the awarding ceremony of Goldilocks "Pagbabago" Blog Contest. It was held at Goldilocks' Shaw Boulevard Branch. Upon arrival, we were given Decorate Your Cake (DYC) kits for us to make our own cakes. The one with the most creative cake will win a prize. I really got no idea on what to put on my cake, so here's all that I got:

The lucky winner is that creative. She sliced her mamon to make it heart shaped and put on Goldilocks' new logo in it. There is also a photo booth at the event where my girl and I posed for a souvenir picture.

After a couple of minutes or so, the ceremony officially started. We were then served by the Goldilocks' crew of our dinner that made me real full.

We had laing, pork barbecue, sotanghon, fresh lumpia, rice, chocolates, and a cup of softdrinks. And just when I thought that it is everything that they had to offer, they served us with Almond Lychee Popz.

Now, this is something that we can have aside from their popular Sago't Gulaman. It contains these bubbles that pops in your mouth. Definitely, kids will enjoy it.

A mini-contest for the bloggers was also held, but my girl's group did not win. They failed to answer correctly on how many flowers are there on the edges of an Oreo, LOL! Where does that question come from?

For the awarding ceremony, they had Edward of Magkaribal to assist them. I barely know anyone from the winners. But from what they had told, I guess they were really that deserving.

Congratulations to the winners who brought home iPod Touches and iPad! And a thumbs up as well to Goldilocks and Nuffnang for the successful contest that they had. Also, thanks to Goldilocks for the box of classic polvoron and a pouch of dinuguan.

Facing the Giants

Before exercising my right to vote, I watched Facing the Giants first.

THE STORY (from the movie's official website)
From the award-winning producers of FLYWHEEL comes a new, action-packed, family-friendly drama about a high school football coach who draws up a new game plan for his team and himself.

In his six years of coaching, Grant Taylor has never had a winning season. Even the hope of a new season is squelched when the best player on his Shiloh Eagles decides to transfer schools. After losing their first three games of the season, the coach discovers a group of fathers are plotting to have him fired. Combined with pressures at home, Coach Taylor has lost hope in his battle against fear and failure.

However, an unexpected challenge helps him find a purpose bigger than just victories. Daring to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles discover how faith plays out on the field and off.

With God, all things are possible.
Here's a trailer of the film:

After watching the film, I am inspired. And these words come out of my mouth:
Never Give Up. Never Back Down. Never Lose Faith.

Make sure to find time and watch this film. Right now, I'll be watching Flywheel - another great movie.

Spare, Spare, Spare

It is the sportsfest in our company this week, I joined the basketball and table tennis tourney. However, yesterday I was invited to play bowling at SM Annex Bowling Center. I am not really that good in bowling, I just love to play.

We played three sets, I guess I am the lowest in the first two sets. Then my girl came to watch me. Inspired? Well, most probably because I had five straight spares. Although I could have really wanted to have a strike, but I just can't.

Thanks to my girl who took a picture of me while playing.
