Thunderbird Resorts - Rizal

Last March 15-16, 2012, we held our Annual Planning Session and team building activities at Thunderbird Resorts - Binangonan, Rizal. We leave our office (Quezon Avenue) at around 7:30 in the morning and arrived safely at around 9:00am.

Since we arrive early, we decided to deposit our baggage at hotel lobby and headed directly to the function room where we conduct our planning session. At lunch, we headed to the KOI restaurant located at the 3rd floor of Fiesta Casino. Buffet lunch was good and offered wide variety of menu to choose from.  I really cannot pick one outstanding food choice, as all of them are really worth eating.  (Or is it just me?)

Right after lunch, we headed to our room assignments and take some quick rest before the afternoon session in the function hall.  It can probably hold 100pax.  Our group is around 60pax, and the hall is still spacious.

Next day, team building activity, the resort offered a vast space matted with fine grass. Overlooking Laguna de bay gives more attraction to enjoy the place.

To give some review of the hotel amenities and features, here’s my ten cents:

Rooms: The rooms are spacious, designed with veranda facing the Laguna de Bay.  I am just alone in my room, but it is good for 2pax with 2 queen-size beds.  The bath is considerably large, and a bath tub is available as well.  The hotel rooms and lobby are Wi-Fi hotspots.

Pool: Thunderbird offers an infinity pool and I like its location, providing a paronamic view of the Laguna de Bay even while swimming.

Food: During my stay, I happen to eat in their 3 different dining venues - 1st is the KOI Restaurant during our lunch on our first day that serves Asian fusion cuisine; Pool bar during dinner and lunch on the 2nd day gives more view of the place (it’s a plus for billiard fanatics); and in Cabana Bar which serves buffet breakfast from American to Filipino dishes.

Fiesta Casino: I am not into game of chances, so just a quick look of the casino gives me the impression that it is small in size compare to that of Resorts World Manila’s.

Location: Its location is in the mountain side of Binangonan, Rizal, a perfect place for some adventure like mountain biking, hiking, and a tour in a cave across the resort.

For more information and details on their rates and reservation, you can visit their website http://www.thunderbirdresortrizal.com/ppc/index.php and be ready for the adventure in Binangonan, Rizal.

If I will rate this, I’d give it a 7/10.  I hope next time; I can visit ThunderBird Resort Poro Point at La Union extensively.  I just happen to have a quick day tour at that place, and I am feeling that I could probably give it a higher rating J

To give you some idea on the place, here are some of my pictures during my stay.
